MANUFACTURING
Products are manufactured after order, which minimizes inventory and unnecessary waste.
The lamps are designed to have as much empty space as possible inside. Most products have 15% filler material. This minimizes material consumption.
The manufacturing of the products creates some waste material, but I have tried to minimize the amount of waste material.
The electricity in my office comes from renewable energy sources.
MATERIAL
The lamps are made from PLA, or polylactic acid. It is a biodegradable polyester made from renewable raw materials, in this case corn starch. The manufacturer has tested the product for non-toxicity and it has passed the requirements of the FDA certification.
PLA is made in Vietnam.
ELECTRICAL PARTS
All electrical components are manufactured within the EU and meet safety standards.
I assemble the electrical parts myself in my studio and there is no waste material from the electrical parts.
The electrical parts are all easily removable, so if you ever give up the lamp, the electrical parts are easy to recycle.
DELIVERY
I order all materials directly to my workshop, where I manufacture and assemble the products myself. This ensures that the parts and materials travel the shortest distance around the world.
All packages leave my office in cardboard boxes of the same size so that I don't have to store packaging material unnecessarily.
I source my products from companies that have committed to carbon neutrality in the future.
